LBC Special Report: Ultra Low Emission Vehicles

All this week, we’ll be discovering the technology behind ULEVs and how they can benefit consumers, businesses and the environment.

It coincides with the launch of the new ground-breaking campaign called Go Ultra Low – jointly funded by Government and industry. Together, they want to make the UK a world leader in the technology of ultra low emission vehicles, bringing huge environmental benefits and lower running costs to users.

ULEVs significantly reduce noise and air pollution, and the Government’s ambition is that by 2040 all new cars and vans will be effectively zero emission.

And how cheap are they to drive? Well, incredibly an ultra low emission car costs from just 2p a mile to drive, meaning a journey from London to Brighton can be done for just £1! What’s more, the Government will give you £5,000 off the cost of a new ultra low emission car, and £8,000 off a new van.
